One band, shared by everyone on it. SimTX is a game: pirates, numbers stations, contests, beacons and jammers are all part of it. These are the few things we don't allow. They apply on the air, in callsigns, station names and profiles, in the catalog, on the wiki and in the SimTX Discord, and they're part of the terms.
On the air
- 1Play how you like. Jamming, pirate and numbers-station play, carriers, stacked stations and long tests are all fair game.
- 2Moderators step in when it's overdone: when it goes on and on, follows one person around, makes a band useless for everyone, or people complain. Spam and ads count too. Usually they'll ask you to ease off first.
Never allowed
- 3Anything illegal.
- 4Threats, harassment and hate, on the air or off it. Hounding one person counts, however you do it.
- 5Sexual content. Anything sexual involving minors means a permanent ban, and we can report it to the police.
- 6Seeking out kids. Don't ask anyone who is or might be under 18 for personal details or photos, or to talk somewhere private.
- 7Doxxing. Don't share anyone's real address, phone number, email, workplace, photos or exact location without their permission. Don't record people to mock or harass them.
- 8Music and recordings you don't have the rights to. Commercial recordings are out; SimTX has no music licences.
- 9Passing yourself off as a real person, a moderator, or a real station, authority or emergency service. Use your own callsign, or a made-up one that isn't someone's real call. Made-up stations are fine.
- 10Attacking, overloading or probing the servers, or using bugs against other people. Report bugs instead.
- 11Coming back when you're banned or restricted, whether on another account, someone else's account or another network.
- 12Malware, hidden data collection or misleading descriptions in catalog items and extensions.
- 13Reports you know are false.
Accounts
- 14You need to be 13 or older, and old enough for Discord where you live. Under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- 15One account per person. Don't share it.
- 16Deleting a banned account doesn't clear the ban. Sign up again with the same Discord account and the ban comes back with you, automatically.
Privacy
- 17Your station doesn't need your exact location. A nearby town will do.
Moderation
- Moderators can listen to any live transmission.
- Moderators decide case by case. These rules list what we act on most; we can also act on anything that harms people or SimTX, even if no rule names it.
If you break the rules
We pick what fits: a warning, a disconnect, a restriction on transmitting or another feature, a suspension, a ban, or a block on your IP address (or a range of addresses, for ban evasion). Serious cases skip steps.
You get the reasons on the Restrictions page in the portal. Think we got it wrong? Email [email protected] within 6 months.
Reporting
Use Report in the app, or the form at simtx.net/report, which works without an account. Report quickly, with the callsign or frequency and the time in UTC. Transmissions aren't recorded.
Emergencies
SimTX is a simulation. Nobody monitors simulated distress calls. In a real emergency, call 112 or your local emergency number.
If something on SimTX points to a real threat to someone's life or safety, report it.
